Themes
From IPodWizard.net Wiki
Introduction
What is a theme?
A theme is a set of pictures, fonts, and/or string changes that give your iPod a certain look (usually denoted by the theme name). It could be a theme based on a particular color, a particular band, or a particular style.
They are usually the best way to jump right in to the world of modding your iPod, as they are quick and easy to find and install.
- Note: Most themes will need modified firmware.
You can find the respective firmware for your iPod and the theme of your choice here
Is my iPod supported?
- Please check here to verify if your iPod is supported or not.
- To save you some time, let us just tell you that every iPod Nano after the 1st one, iPod Classic, and iPod Touch are not supported, and should not be modded by iPodWizard.
Getting A Theme
Where can I find themes?
- All the themes that have been created by the iPodWizard.net community can be found in threads
by searching through the pages of this forum. Then you must click your iPod model to view the available themes for your iPod type. Each individual theme has it's own thread, and each theme title has a prefix (i.e. [5G/5.5G Evolution]) notifying you of the iPod model(s) it is for, and the firmware type the theme is made for.
- Haven't found the theme you wanted yet? Make a request! Someone will probably be willing to make one for you! Better yet, make your own! You could use a picture editing program (Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Paint, GIMP, etc.) to make your own theme. Also, if you are a member of ipodwizard.net, you can upload your theme and share it with other users!
- A respected iPodWizard member, fm, has created a very convenient theme database at [Link temporarily removed].
How do I use what I downloaded?
Chances are, you have just downloaded a .zip or a .rar file.
A popular program to create and extract these files is WinRar, but it is shareware.
We recommend Extractnow, as it is a completely free and light extractor.
Where do I get firmware?
You should try to find it in iPodWizard.net's own forums -- here, but if you can't, try:
- Note: drivendesign.us or anything on that site is not in any way affiliated with iPodWizard.net
